Questions about Luma
How much does Luma cost?
Luma Flat is €69 per month per facility – regardless of the number of users – plus a one-off €290 for setting up your own instance. Nursono customers pay only €39 per month in the bundle.
Why is WhatsApp a problem for care teams?
WhatsApp reads the address book, stores data outside the EU and does not offer a data processing agreement. As soon as rosters, handovers or resident references are shared, the facility is in breach of the GDPR. Luma offers the same convenience on a server that belongs to you.
What does "self-hosted" mean in practice?
Every facility gets its own Luma instance: own database, own file storage, own credentials. We set it up and operate it on request – data sovereignty stays entirely with you.
Is there a Luma app for smartphones?
Yes. Luma is available as an app for Android and iOS, plus a web admin dashboard for managing users and groups. Voice messages, photos and files work as you would expect.
How is Luma encrypted?
TLS in transit and AES-256 at rest for messages and files. Access is logged; a GDPR export and deletion workflows are built into the admin dashboard.
